Suggestions to make Gameday go off without a hitch.

Create your first roster

Rosters can contain emoji's and alpha numeric values

Create your players and set the batting order.

  • I.E. 🐊 Gators, or 🐝 Sting
  • Less is more, don't go crazy with long names
Add Players

Add all the players on your teams regardless if they will play today

This roster list is how we make our lineup

  • Add the player Number (if that have one), Name and Pronunciation (if needed)
  • Add the player directly to the lineup or do it later
  • Select the announcer type TTS or record their intro and music at this point or once in the lineup
  • You can import and export your players list using csv files
Global Settings

Global Settings

Centralized place for mass updates.

  • Select different icons to personalize your sport
  • Change the intro phrase from "now batting" to whatever fits your sport best.
  • Customize the TTS (Text to Speech) voices, punch it up by running it through the mixer
  • Decide what to announce: Intro + Number + Name + Music, etc.
  • Filter Explicit Music search from Apple Music
  • The Song Duration and Fading out
  • and more
Pro tips

Sound like a Pro

When using your own voice
  • Use AirPods or something that isn't the phone mic. This helps cut down on tapping noises being recorded when starting and stopping the recordings.
  • Speak in your announcer voice, not your every day voice
  • If possible find a quiet space, closets are great for reducing noise
  • Once recorded, listen to some different preset mixer settings; if need be create your own.
When using the Apple enhanced and premium voices (TTS voices)
  • Sample and download the enhanced and premium voices from Apple
    • Under Apple's Settings > Accessability > Read & Speak > Voices > English > Voice > look for Zoe, Sophia, Evan, Tom etc. The key is to get premium and enhanced ones downloaded.
  • From Walk Up Music DJ app go to Global Settings > Configure TTS Voice > Choose a voice and punch it up with Radio DJ or Stadium to start
  • Mess around with it for a bit until you find that perfect voice
  • *Note these changes will take a couple minutes to propigate since it needs to retranscode each player in each roster

The Lineup (Batting order or Order depeding on the Sport)

The Lineup / Batting Order

This is where we make changes on the fly.

  • Drop and drag allows for quick reordering of players
  • Bench players to skip them from being announced
  • Edit the music, introduction and more per player
  • Remove players from the lineup (doesn't delete them from the roster)
  • Edit Global settings from this view
